2019 Rural Generation Summit

This May 22-24, Cardinal Cross will appear as media sponsors in Mississippi for a gathering designed to get you out of the conference room and on the road, where you’ll get to know the history, culture, and communities of the region.

Over three days, you’ll visit with the Mississippi Center for Cultural Production and their neighbors in Utica for a Rural Generation Homecoming, learn about the songs of struggle and the experiences that inspired them at the BB King Museum, get down with Alternate ROOTS members at the Smith Robertson Museum and Cultural Center, and collaborate towards our shared future at Tougaloo College where the Free Southern Theater began.

You’ll also get social time to explore the city, facilitated time to share your story and exchange learning in small group dialogues, and the opportunity to engage leading national organizations and regional projects that express the cultural wealth of rural America and Indian Country.
